The Challenge
Structuring the foundation of a modern streaming platform
Building a competitor to giants like Netflix requires a massive engine to manage content. The challenge was designing a system for complex media workflows that does not rely on developers for daily updates.
The platform needed to act as a headless CMS, allowing editors to build promotional pages and manage the transition of live TV broadcasts into the VOD catalog in a clear, frictionless environment.

Designing a seamless publishing ecosystem
To empower the content teams, I focused on modularity and logic clarity. Here is how we structured the core pillars of the streaming management platform.
Empowering editors with dynamic layouts
Marketing teams needed to react to events instantly. I designed a modular page builder so editors could create custom pages using components like hero banners and carousels.
For example, for a James Bond movie premiere, an editor could instantly assemble a dedicated landing page. They could upload creatives and link curated playlists—such as classic spy movies and documentaries—all without developer support.
Bridging live broadcasting with VOD
Catch-up TV required merging two different mental models: scheduled linear broadcasting and on-demand libraries.
I designed a workflow that empowered administrators to easily select which upcoming live TV programs should be recorded. The interface streamlined the process of transforming these scheduled broadcasts directly into fully categorized VOD assets.
